Library in Guru Nanak Govt. College, Kala Afghana (Gurdaspur) plays a vital role in the development of academic culture in the institution. The library is air-conditioned furnished with modular and comfortable furniture. It has latest collection related to various disciplines like sports sciences, physical education and other related subjects. The library also subscribes various periodicals which include newspaper and magazine to update their users with the information world. Following the fifth law of Library and Information Science i.e. Library is a growing Organism. The collection of library is continuously enhanced with a view to satisfied users information need.

General Rules

  • Library card is mandatory to issue /return of books
  • The library user shall not engage in audible conversation in any part of the library.
  • Do not write upon, damage or mark any book belonging to the library
  • A person responsible for any damage caused by him/her to the books or any other property belonging to the library, shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon him/her.
  • Use of mobile phone in the library is strictly prohibited. Keep your mobile at silent mode.
  • The reader should check the books before borrowing to ensure that these are not damaged otherwise he/she shall be held responsible for the damage, discovered at the time of returning the books.
  • Membership privileges of a user can be suspended for misbehaviour with the library staff or for indecent manners.
  • Members are free to seek the assistance of library staff in selecting reading material, checking of references, searching of misplaced reading material etc
  • The library user shall not engage in audible conversation in any part of the library.
  • Students found taking books out of the library without authorization will be punished with a heavy fine and disciplinary action will be taken.
  • Library books/materialsare the property of the library; they should be returned at the time of obtaining clearance certificate.
